Why I'm involved...

Having lost my mum to breast cancer I know first hand how much of a shock it is to hear someone in your family has the disease. Accordingly I want to help build a program and support network that:

• Helps families at this difficult time

• Gets young people thinking about the disease and how they can contribute to raise funds

• Spread awareness about the importance of early detection programs.

Through our grants to research I want to see:

• Treatments become less invasive,

• Women and their families becoming more confident in their fight against breast cancer

• Be standing when they find the cure.

More about me...

I am a recent Media and Communications graduate from the University of Sydney.

I have served internships at The Daily Telegraph, Fox Reality Channel in the United States and worked with Fox Sports for the best part of three years as a reporter. In 2009 I accepted a full time position with Splendid Communications in Sydney.

In 2010 I decided that I wanted to dedicate more time to the charity and have been freelancing with Fox Sports.

Through my experience within these organizations I have built many skills sets which I believe transfer into Concert for the Cure. Particularly I wish to channel these towards building upon the success, accessibility, fun and popularity of Concert for the Cure and other charity organizations.

My Music...

It's fairly tragic and encompasses dance, house, indie, rap and rock.

Overall though, I think I'd have to say that Australian bands are easily my favourite. I was lucky enough to work with the publicity team for the Good Vibrations Festival in 2010 and can safely say Aussie music is in good hands.
